Google of Yahoos lead me to you. I was searching for other things, but found you repeatedly hidden in the stacks of results. You had many good answers to my searches. Eventually I visited without prompting and discovered many things, many people.
So now we sit, us many people, and share our many things. It's a good way to pass the time. More coffee?
Two things ya'll taught me
1. I no longer write mankind, but choose humans or people instead. Unless a sentence is specifically about a male, I don't use the male pronoun. I was and am respectful to women in the large ways, but now I'm a bit more aware of the small things that also matter.
2. When writing or speaking, I no longer assume the audience is just American. There are no statements about "our government" or "the South". Now it's the "US government" and the "American South".
These are small things, yes, but they are of some of the priceless things I learned for five American dollars on a garishly colored website.
